BWell Clinic is a truly integrative wellness center founded on the principles of clinical evaluation, functional medicine and scientifically proven treatments.

We try to avoid a symptoms based approach to medicine. The BWell philosophy is founded on a multidisciplinary model, leveraging expertise from diverse fields such as Toxicology, Internal medicine, Naturopathic and Chinese medicine.

Each patient will undergo specialty laboratory testing and clinical evaluation before treatment. Symptoms do not provide sufficient information for us to treat patients. We need a deeper understanding of what is happening biochemically in order to make treatment recommendations. We also specialize in providing the cutting edge iin integrative treatment protocols.

A sample of the kinds of clinic testing we conduct includes but is not limited to: Endocrine system, liver function, B-Vitamin insufficiency, cellular energy, neural function, pulmonary function, antioxidant status including oxidative damage, and specific dysbiosis markers for bacterial and yeast overgrowth. For each area tested, we use the absolute cutting edge in specialty laboratory testing in order to obtain a thorough picture of the health of patient's fundamental systems. Clinical testing allows our practitioners to see into patients' complex and unique chemistry. Without this information we are forced to resort to one-size-fits-all approaches to wellness promotion. Our recommendations take into account individual variability and polymorphisms.

BWell offers a full range of specialty clinical

  • Standard and non-standard serum hormone testing: Normal cell communication, repair, growth and energy production are dependent on hormones. If these fundamental building blocks of cell-repair and communication are not operating optimally, patient’s health will suffer.
  • 24 Hour Intracrine Hormone Analysis: Intracine hormone testing (the hormones not secreted by the glands but constructed within target tissues) helps us understand how hormone production is functioning at the receptor and precursor levels.
  • Liver Function Testing: Without proper liver function, the body cannot handle toxins properly and any detoxification protocol will be less effective. Our comprehensive liver detoxification panel is the most thorough test available to evaluate Phase I and Phase II detoxification in the liver.
  • Organic Acids: Tests for B-Vitamin insufficiency, Cellular Energy, Neural Function, Detoxification, Antioxidant status including oxidative damage, and specific dysbiosis markers for bacterial and yeast overgrowth. A well-functioning metabolism is necessary for detoxification and long-term wellness.
  • Comprehensive Nutritional Analysis: We measure three critical areas of health Metabolism, Amino Acid production and absorption, and Oxidative Stress. 1) Metabolic Analysis measuring 39 key organic acids to evaluate gastrointestinal function, cellular energy production, neurotransmitter processing, and functional need for vitamins, minerals, and co-factors. 2) Amino Acid analysis measuring 38 amino acids to evaluate dietary protein adequacy, digestion, absorption, amino acid transport, metabolic impairments, and nutritional deficits; including essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. 3) Oxidative Stress analysis is a sensitive tool to evaluate the body’s anti-oxidant reserves and the presence of oxidative injury. 
  • Digestive function: Healthy digestion is critical for metabolism and optimal health. When too much bad bacteria is present in the gut (also known as dysbiosis) or yeast (candidiasis), normal digestion becomes impaired. We can test for these conditions as well as more serious concerns including Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, risk assessment for colorectal cancer, pancreatic digestive enzyme output, H. pylori - the causal bacterium in peptic ulcer disease, and identify pathogenic yeast and parasites in the GI tract.
  • Pulmonary function testing: Our machines are specially calibrated by Dr. Dahlgren, a cardio-pulmonary internal medicine specialist for over 35 years. Our technicians are trained personally by Dr. Dahlgren to insure the most accurate testing. (Children over five can take this test)
  • Neurological Battery: Dr. Dahlgren developed an extremely thorough neurological battery of tests including: Grip and Reflex, Color Blindness, Reaction Time, Peripheral Vision, Balance, Pegs and Trails, Culture Fair IQ Test, and a POMs Mood State Test. (Children over five can take this test)
  • Standard health screen panel: Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and Ratios, Triglycerides, Glucose, Kidney, Liver, and Heart Function, Potassium, Calcium, Uric Acid, Electrolytes, Iron, Ferritin, CBC (Complete Blood Count) , Comprehensive Thyroid Profile. (All patients have this test)
  • Urine analysis: Glucose, Protein, PH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone (Acetoacetic Acid), Bilirubin. (All patients have this test)
